Posted On: Aug 01, 2012

Tina has placed priority hiring on veterans for the fiscal year 2012.  This year veterans will have preference and will be well supported by FEMA and hiring under the SAFER Act. There is been $320 million allocated for SAFER this year of that $50 million will be set aside to hire veterans.

The FY 2012 SAFER grant Guidance and Application Kit is posted on the Assistance to Firefighters web site. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has also posted a Get Ready Guide to help with the application process.
