Updated On: Aug 239, 2012
Poudre Fire Authority is mourning the loss of one of our own after a tragic accident on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Firefighter Paul Gaucher was off-duty when he died of injuries resulting from a motorcycle crash in the Red Feather Lakes area.
“Firefighter Gaucher was a friend to all and enemy to none,” says PFA Fire Chief Tom DeMint. He continued, “Pauly was always smiling and will be sorely missed.”
Firefighter Gaucher was a 16 year veteran of PFA who served with distinction in many roles including Colorado Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team. Previously he worked for the City of Fort Collins Utilities.
Services for friends and family will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Fort Collins. The funeral will be a full fire service funeral afforded to an active member that did not die in the line of duty. A procession of emergency vehicles will then travel to Grandview Cemetery.
For departments wishing to send an apparatus for the procession, contact Battalion Chief Doug Lee: dlee@poudre-fire.org
