Wednesday, June 8, 2022 – 7:19 p.m., Local members were dispatched to a home, near E. Wildcat Reserve Pkwy and Poston Pkwy in Littleton, after a resident saw a fire in their neighbor’s backyard. Initial 9-1-1 callers thought the fire was coming from a grill and could be extending towards the home. |

Friday, June 3, 2022 - Just after 4 a.m., Local members responded to multiple reports of a mobile home fire near C-470 and Santa Fe in Littleton. Upon arrival, members found heavy fire conditions and had concerns that the fire may have extended towards neighboring homes. Members quickly pulled hose lines for fire attack while simultaneously searching the home for any people that may be trapped. |
Spotswood St. Structure Fire
05/27/22 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
Just before 5 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, Local members responded to a reported residential structure fire near W. Ridge Road and S. Spotswood Street in Littleton. Dispatchers received reports stating that smoke was visible and windows were breaking. First arriving members confirmed the response as a working structure fire and found that there were two parties trapped near window wells. |
S. Krameria St. Structure Fire
05/27/22 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
Today, around 2:25 p.m. on May 11th, Local members responded to reports of an exterior fire in front of a two-story single-family home on S. Krameria Street in Centennial. Members worked quickly to ensure all the occupants were out of the home and to extinguish the fire and keep it from extending into the interior of the home. No injuries occurred and the cause is under investigation. |
S. Emporia Way Structure Fire
05/27/22 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
Around 2:34 p.m. on May 10, 2022, Local members were dispatched for a reported residential structure fire on S Emporia Way in Greenwood Village. Once on scene, members confirmed moderate smoke coming from the basement on the backside of a multi-family home. The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the basement and first floor of the home with no extension to the adjacent units. |

At 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, Local members responded to an aircraft emergency at Centennial Airport. A Cessna 172 was landing when it left Runway 28, hit a sign, and stopped in the grassy area between Runway 10/28 and the Charlie Taxiway. |
South Quebec Way Structure Fire

At 11:47 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, multiple 911 callers reported a building fire in the 1800 block of S. Quebec Way on the border of Arapahoe County and Denver. While members were responding, a large plume of black smoke was widely visible. Members from South Metro Engine and Medic 21 were first to arrive at 1885 S. Quebec Way in Denver. |
Farmingdale Ct. Structure Fire

Around 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022, observant neighbors saw smoke coming from a home on Farmingdale Court in Parker and called 911. While units from SMFR were responding, neighbors tried knocking on the door to alert residents that the side of their house was on fire, but no one answered. |

Just before 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2022, a 911 caller reported an acid spill at 8980 Barrons Blvd. in Highlands Ranch. When Local members arrived at Waterworks Aquatics, they blocked off the street and observed employees working to contain the spill. |
Glasgow Court Structure Fire

Just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022, Local members responded to a house fire on Glasgow Court in Douglas County. Many concerned community members saw the large plume of black smoke which was visible for miles. Crews encountered low to zero visibility and extreme heat inside while using thermal imaging cameras to quickly search in the toxic smoke for people and pets. |
Denice Drive Structure Fire

On Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 10:25 p.m., Local members responded to a residential fire near E. Quincy Ave and S. Holly Street in Cherry Hills Village. Arriving units found heavy flames coming from the second-story and roof. Although initial reports stated that the home was vacant, crews confirmed that no one was inside as they pulled initial attack lines. |
E470 Plane Crash
03/09/22 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
At 2:18 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Local members responded to a plane crash on E-470 between S. Jamacia St. and S. Peoria St. in Douglas County. The Cessna P210N, a single engine aircraft with seating for 6, was flying from Dodge City Regional Airport to Centennial Airport and was on final approach to land when the crash occurred. |
Wellington St. Chimney Fire

At 2:20 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022, Local members responded to the 7300 block of S. Wellington St. after a neighbor called 911 and reported dark smoke coming from a house down the street. When members arrived, they observed an unsafe volume of smoke billowing from the chimney and additional crews were dispatched. |
Harvard Ave. Structure Fire
03/09/22 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
At 12:53 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Local members responded to a report of smoke in the laundry room at Ivy Crossing Apartments, located at 7535 E. Harvard Ave. in Arapahoe County. When members first arriving from Station 21, they encountered heavy smoke conditions in the lower-level hallway and advanced a hose line for fire attack. |
E470 Garbage Truck Fire
02/28/22 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
At 12:38 on Monday, February 28th, several 911 callers reported a garbage truck fire along the shoulder of northbound E-470 at the Jordan Road off ramp. Upon arrival, Battalion Chief 4 reported a fully engulfed engine compartment fire and members from Tower 45 began fire suppression. With no fire hydrants nearby, Engine 42 and Tender 45 were used for water supply. |

At 9:41 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, Members from South Metro Engine and Medic 23 along with Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to an unknown medical problem at a home in the 20900 block of E. Princeton Pl. in Arapahoe County. A 911 caller reported that “people were dying” and hung up. |

At 2:56 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, Local members responded to reports of a house fire at the corner of E. Belleview Ave. and S. Sherman St. in Arapahoe County. A motorist driving by saw the fire and alerted the person inside who didn’t know their house was burning. While members were responding, a plume of smoke was already visible from a distance. |
Florida Avenue Hazmat Incident

On Saturday February 12th, at 3:31 p.m., Local members responded to an apartment complex for an odor investigation near Parker Road and E. Florida Avenue. Residents had concerns over a chemical smell in the hallway. Members from first arriving Engine 21 and Medic 21 evaluated the situation and upgraded the call to a hazardous material response for proper evaluation. |
Centennial Airport Landing Gear Issue

At 08:06 a.m. on Monday morning,February 7th, Local members responded to an inflight emergency standby at Centennial Airport. Air Traffic Controllers requested the response after a Leer 45 declared an emergency upon discovering a landing gear issue. |
S. Lowell Blvd. Multi Family Structure Fire
02/15/22 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
At 10:09 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, a multi-family structure fire was reported near W. Berry Avenue and S. Lowell Way in Littleton, CO. Initial callers described visible fire and smoke coming from a chimney in the middle of the multi-unit occupancy. First arriving units pulled attack lines and worked on a primary search and verified that the units had been evacuated. |
