In response to the veto of the Fire Fighters Collective Bargaining Bill, fire fighters from Pueblo Local 3 made it a point to send a message to the Governor. They attended an event where Ritter toured a bridge only to be met by picketing fire fighters holding "Why Does Ritter Hate Fire Fighters?" signs.
Ritter was also met with several union protesters at the Ludlow Masscre Memorial. 20 union members and their families were killed while trying to protect their union rights. The Governor choose to speak at this sacred union grounds on the heels of vetoing two critical labor bills. He was met with several protesters and many union members turned their backs to the Governor due to the hypocrisy he showed.
