This June there wi be two great comedy shows to benefit the WEST METRO FIRE RESCUE FOUNDATION. The shows will be held at the Lakewood Cultural Center Theater on June 8th.WHAT: A national comedy tour  in memory of FDNY members lost on 9/11/01 concentrating efforts on raising money for  charities and foundations related to but not limited to : Police, Firemen, EMS, and  Military.  Depending on the show the plan is to leave most of the money raised with local charities. We ask that a small % of money Raised from each show be donated  the Laughter saves Lives Foundation. This money will be used to support organization like the FF Cancer Foundation but also be left in areas where there seems to be a need as we move across the country making people laugh..

WHO: John Larocchia will spear head this tour and MC most shows depending on the other talent that is hired for the show..  John is a stand Up Comic for 20 yrs and was a NYC Fireman for 21 years retiring in July of 2008 . John won Funniest Fireman on ABC TV’s The View.  John is also a National instructor teaching topics related to Haz-Mat and WMD.

WHY: On 9/11 John’s firehouse (Haz-Mat Company 1 and Squad 288 ) lost 19 of its members.  So many people helped John, his firehouse, The FDNY and NYC get through this time. This tour has been a dream of John to thank people for what they did after 9/11 but also give communities an opportunity to thank and help their own emergency responders. We want to show that Laughter can change and save lives for the moment and for a lifetime.  We  also want to put a face to those who risk so much right here at home to keep us safe and secure. Each show will be in Memory of two Emergency responders. One from NYC lost on 9/11 and one from the community where we are holding the show.

HOW: We are scheduling shows nationwide thru a vast network of top name comedy clubs Theaters and local halls. We will attempt to enlist the talents of highly visible/recognizable comedians to further promote this worthy venture and also try to expose some new comics.  We will promote this tour with the help of contacts John has made teaching nationally through  firefighter groups/unions and organizations, coupled with the use of local TV and radio? A ride along in a Police car, taking a CPR  class with EMS or cooking a meal with the Fireman. Also we may set up our small sound system anywhere to put on a show.  Along with the actual shows being taped, we will spend a great deal of time with individuals in need in each city, learning about just how incredibly special and deserving of assistance they are. Neighbors, teachers, friends etc of whomever we have chosen to help will be filmed to personalize to a national audience that these heroes here in America are just ordinary people with an exceptionally noble calling in life: to help and serve their neighbors.
