It was good to be with many of you in Boston for last week’s State and Provincial Presidents Meeting. As you know, the IAFF is fighting for many legislative priorities on behalf of our members and their families – including adding occupational cancer to the Public Safety Officers’ Benefits program.
The IAFF and the Fraternal Order of Police are calling on Congress to pass the Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act (S. 930/H.R. 1719). The legislation would recognize the undeniable link between firefighting and occupational cancer and ensure all first responders can access death and disability benefits due to cancer.
Watch the video below to learn more about the Honor Act. We encourage you to tell your members of Congress to act on this legislation; you can contact them via our IAFF Advocacy Center. Please also share this with your Locals and their members.
Be You. Be Strong. Be Fire Fighters.
Sincerely,
Edward A. Kelly
General President
